Land Forms

This work examines the intersection between our dwelling and the environment it exists in, and often dissolves the boundaries between the two. I enjoy exploring the juxtaposition between the geometric forms and straight lines of buildings against the more organic shapes and muted colors of the landscape.

There is a hidden fragility to what otherwise might seem like a solid and stable existence -- either the fragility of the human relationships inside the home or the fault lines, unstable soil, eroding cliffs and menacing weather outside. My surface designs hint at that instability with deep fissures cut through the clay surface, houses placed precariously near the structures edge or embedded wire depicting waves and wind.
